Frequently asked

Do I need new hardware?: No. SpotMesh works with any MikroTik router running RouterOS 6 or 7 — hAP, L009, hEX, RB5009, anything. If you've got a MikroTik, you're ready.
Which mobile money providers are supported?: M-Pesa STK Push is live today. We're designed for multi-provider support — additional networks plug in as operators ask for them.
Does SpotMesh take a cut of customer payments?: Never. Customer payments flow directly from the mobile money network to your till via your own provider credentials. We bill the SaaS subscription separately on the 1st of each month.
Will my customers be able to tether?: Not casually. Our default firewall rules drop traffic showing the TTL signature of a tethered device — catches the overwhelming majority of phone hotspots, USB tethering, and laptop sharing.
What if my AWS account or yours has an outage?: SpotMesh runs on AWS Cape Town (af-south-1) with daily database snapshots replicated to a separate backup AWS account. Recovery is measured in minutes, not days.
Do I need a mobile money merchant account before signing up?: You'll need one with at least one supported provider before going live. Free signup lets you configure packages and test on the sandbox while your provider application is being approved (typically 2–4 weeks for Daraja; varies for other providers).
Can I cancel any time?: Yes. No contracts. Cancel from the dashboard and your routers are released; export your voucher history any time.
